Chicago's Money Smart Week 2007
Promoting Personal Financial Literacy in Chicago,
April 30 through May 5, 2007

The Office of the City Treasurer would like to invite you to participate in Chicago's Money Smart Week 2007, which will take place April 30 through May 5, 2007.

Money Smart Week began in 2002 as a coordinated effort of the Money Smart Advisory Council, a diverse group of more than 40 Chicago-area organizations working together to promote personal financial literacy. Members agreed to share resources and ideas to achieve greater public awareness of the programs and services available in the city of Chicago.

Since the initial effort, the Chicago Fed has coordinated and promoted Money Smart Week each year resulting in six days of focused presentations by community groups, financial institutions, government agencies, educational organizations, and financial experts, all designed to help consumers learn to better manage their personal finances. Today, Money Smart Week is much broader in scope as it continues to expand, creating new partnerships, heightened exposure, and substantive events.
